The Invasion of Athena and First mission.
Hey everyone so today im happy to report the first battle report not only on my youtube channel but also on this blog. This is part of the Invasion of Athena campaign for the heart of the sector. This post not only will have a link to the battle report but also will add a little bit of info about the initial invasion. I thought this would be fun to do and also we got a video battle report that should get people going.
Chronicle of the Initial Invasion.
Day 1 Time of engagement zero hour- Iron Warriors Fleet enters in the system and refuses to any transmission.
Day 1 Time of engagement 2nd hour - Iron Warriors Fleets enters in weapon range and begins to setup a blockage at this time Imperial Defenders are worried about intentions.
Day 1 Time of engagement 3rd hour - Iron Warrior's Fleet begins a broadcast now known as the articles of surrender " To all sons of the true Imperium we ask you to join our case in ridding the Imperium of the true traitors on Terra. Join us and our victorious Warmaster in taking back what is rightfully ours and join us. Already 9 legions have joined our cause while we have destroyed 3. If you refuse to join us we will crush you with out mercy this will be your only chance to join us or to surrender"
Day 1 Time of engagement 3rd hour - several cohort of troops on athena go renegade and turn on the Imperium, both the 18th Company of Imperial Fists and local forces attempt to swiftly crush these rebellion.
Day 1 time of engagement 4th hour - The Imperial governor of the planet is assassinated despite being protected by a Imperial fist honor guard, this throws the local assembly into chaos.
Day 1 time of engagement 7th hour - The Iron Warriors fleet engage local defense monitors and defense platforms, they swiftly take orbital control in under a hour.
Day 1 time of engagement 10th hour - Imperial Fist Captain Havoc declares full martial law and decalres local General usaka as acting governor of the planet. They are able to restore order in the government and secure the capital.
Day 1 time of engagement 11th hour - Iron Warriors have setup a full blockade of the planet and begin a orbital bombardment. Ground base silos begin a counter fire process but due to local rebels its not completely effective.
Day 1 time of engagement 18th hour - Imperial Fists begin setting up more defenses around the capital and to shore up the orbital defense silos.
Day 2 time of engagement 25th hour - Iron Warriors begin initial droppod assualts and setting up initial landing zones.
Day 2 time of engagement 25th hour - Iron Warriors engage local Imperial Army defenders in the initial landing zones, the defenders are still scattered and disorganized due to the recent rebellion and the Iron warriors are able to set up some of the inital landing zones.
Day 2 time of engagement 30th hour - fighting around the landing zones are picking up due to a concentrated imperial counter attack and with most of the remaining defense batteries knocking out heavier landers. The Iron Warriors repulse the assault but still don't have heavy equipment down.
Day 2 time of engagement 37th hour - Iron warriors Initial defense lines are still holding though at heavy cost. reports are 33% or more causalities for the Iron Warriors with 80 to 86 percent lost of Imperial defenders.
Day 3 time of engagement 59th hour - Iron Warrior elite troops begin operations to secure some of the defense silos before Imperial Forces can dig further. The hope is to bring down heavier equipment and landers.
